1. Tartan
While plaid has always been a closet staple, this fall, tartan, the traditional Swedish version of plaid takes centrestage, all the way from vintage inspired flannel shirts to the effortlessly trendy and eye-catching skinny jeans.
2. Maroon
Also known as oxblood, it is the colour most commonly associated with fall. This year is no exception and this dark shade of red is the colour that dominates the window displays of high street stores.
3. Sheer Textured KnitsLast year, thick and wooly cable sweaters were the in thing but 2013 beckons the coming of sheer knits, especially textured ones like the beautiful green one below.

4. The Flutter Top
Definitely a contender for the "it" top of the year, the Flutter Top is a very fresh and fun fusion of the spaghetti strap and chiffon, and has a flowiness to it that is simply irresistible.
5. Cut-in Tops
Another top vying for the place of the "in" top of the year is cut-in tops, which reminiscent of bodycon dresses that were popular in late 2011 and early 2012.
6. Eyelet
And last but not least we have the sexy eyelet, which works better in white since the holes are more visible. Furthermore, it gives off and ooze of innocence and purity, which is what this trend is supposed to bring out in us girls.
Goodbye Summer
As we bade farewell to the warm and scorching heat, we say goodbye to two trends we have come to love - monochrome and structured pieces.
There are a few trends however who seem to be stuck in the middle of it all. They are: Houndstooth, Gingham, Watercolour prints (i.e. Paddle Pop), Ombre as well as Grunge (i.e. Spikes and Studs). Until then, we'll just have to wait and see where the journey of fashion will take us ♥
